Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) |
|
- What inspired you to write The Basement Quilt?
I knew how sitting around a quilt frame could reveal personalities and secrets. When I was young, and played under my mother's large quilt frame, I heard all sorts of things!
- Do you base your characters on folks you know?
Mostly no, but there are few I have used under different names.
- Is Anne Brown any thing like you?
For the most part no, but I like her and I feel her pains and joys.
- Is there a real town you pattern Colebridge after?
There is no Colebridge MO, but much is taken from St. Charles, Missouri, where I had three shops on Historic Main Street at one time.
- How often do you write?
Every day, and when I am not writing, I am conspiring! :-)
- What is the easiest and hardest part of writing a fiction series?
Letting the story naturally unfold is quite fun. Sometimes, I surprise myself. The hardest part is letting go of a character or developing one you do not like!
- So how did other books follow?
The characters were created and needed to develop and continue their lives. I fell in love with them!
- Who is your favorite author?
Jane Austen - Pride & Prejudice influenced me a great deal. She will play a role in Colebridge as the Community continues.
