Why do I need a Certified Appraiser? You can be confident in using the services of Ann Hazelwood. She has been tested on her knowledge of fabric dates and construction techniques, on her ability to recognize patterns and regional influences, and on her awareness of values in this geographic area. In addition, she has agreed to a Code of Ethical Practices. Ann is qualified to evaluate antique and contemporary quilts and quilted textiles, such as garments employing traditional design elements, techniques, and variations. She will determine value based on craftsmanship, creativity, aesthetic value, fame or reputation of the quilt maker, cost or uniqueness of fabric, publication or fame of the quilt, awards, design or technique, or area of the country. What kind of appraisal do I need? Appraisals can be done for Fair Market, Insurance Replacement, and Donation Purposes. How much does it cost? The price of a standard appraisal is $50.
